I received the following letter from the Littler Sisters of the Poor.
The Little Sisters of the Poor are deeply grateful for the generous collection from Holy Spirit Parish the weekend of July 8th and 9th. We received a total of $4,489.72 from Masses that weekend and $350.00 has been received since.
It was, indeed, a privilege to present our needs before such a caring community, and it was uplifting to witness the generosity of so many who opened their hearts to our mission. Please convey to your parishioners our deepest gratitude and the assurance of our prayers.
On behalf of our Residents and each of the Little Sisters, I offer you as well our heartfelt thanks for your welcoming us to Holy Spirit. May God bless you abundantly for your openness to our needs. We will continue to pray for an increase of priestly and religious
vocations for the entire Church.
Sincerely in Christ,
Sr. Margaret, lsp
The last two weeks we have had seven funerals here at Holy Spirit. I am grateful for everyone who is involved in this ministry of care to the families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Meals are provided for families after the funerals. Joan Vehige organizes those meals. Calls are made asking parishioners to bring a dish. It all comes together and the family is appreciative of a place to gather and good food to eat while they can take time to reminisce.
I am also grateful to those who assist with the liturgy: our musicians, cantors, servers, lectors and communion ministers. They help us to have good celebrations of the gift of eternal life given to us by Christ.
Thanks also to our staff who work behind the scenes taking care of all those details that we often take for granted.
Keep in prayer the following people whose funerals we have celebrated and their families.
- Julie Meunier
- Ralph and Jeanne Gossman
- Marty Erickson
- Ernie Ward
- Larry Helliker
- Kathy White
